How RealiPlan calculates your debt payoff plan

Calculation assumptions, product facts, limits and editorial standards for RealiPlan's paycheck-aware debt planner.

Projections, not promises

RealiPlan projects repayment from the balances, rates, payments and income information you provide. Changed rates, new purchases, missed payments, fees and lender-specific interest calculations can change the outcome. Check your lender's statement for the amount actually due. A projected payoff date is not a guarantee.

The calculator and the full planner

The public calculator compares snowball (smallest balance first) and avalanche (highest APR first), without an account. Its monthly model does not reproduce every lender's daily interest or minimum-payment rules. The signed-in planner adds income schedules, bills, additional strategies and promotional-rate inputs. A standard 0% promotional APR is not the same as a deferred-interest offer.

Extra payments and upcoming bills

The app's cash check uses recorded cash, your chosen cash floor, known obligations and the next covered paycheck. It is a limited-horizon check, not a guarantee that every future bill is covered. Review the displayed horizon and keep balances, income and bills current before acting. RealiPlan does not move money or make payments for you.

Product and pricing facts

Free includes five planning days per month; repeat calculations on the same planning day do not use another day. Pro is USD $7.99 monthly or USD $59.99 annually and adds unlimited planning and AI features. Manual entry is available without connecting a bank. Optional read-only bank connections are available on Pro. RealiPlan is a web app that can be installed as a PWA; it is not a native iOS or Android app. See pricing for current plan details.

AI explains; calculations supply the numbers

AI features provide explanations and options based on calculated results and supplied information. They can be wrong and are not a substitute for qualified financial, tax or legal advice. No displayed AI assessment establishes a statistical probability that you will achieve an outcome.

Examples and public statistics

The homepage illustration starts with USD $5,000 at 18% APR, uses a fixed $500 monthly payment, and assumes no fees or new charges. Monthly interest is rounded through the balance calculation; the final payment is adjusted. It is not a customer result. Geographic statistics describe populations, not your finances: card balances and household incomes have different populations and source periods. Do not divide them to calculate personal DTI. DTI is monthly debt payments divided by gross monthly income.
